Acclaimed Play-By-Play Voice of NBC Sports’ Motorsports and Olympics Coverage Signs with Octagon for Exclusive Representation

Octagon, the preeminent talent management agency in global sports and entertainment, today announced the signing of renowned sports broadcaster Leigh Diffey. Diffey will be represented by Tim Scanlan, Vice President and Head of Octagon’s Sports Media, Broadcasting, and Content division.

One of the most prolific and esteemed voices in motorsports, Diffey serves as NBC’s lead play-by-play announcer for its INDYCAR, IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, MotoGP, and Supercross coverage. During his tenure with NBC Sports, Diffey has been a signature element of the network’s coverage of the most high-profile and historic motorsports events, including the Indianapolis 500. He also has called a comprehensive collection of NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series races, as well as serving as a host for NBC Sports’ daily motorsports studio show “NASCAR America.” Additionally, Diffey was host and play-by-play announcer for NBC Sports’ presentation of Formula One from 2012 to 2016.

Regarded for his incredible versatility, Diffey has been a part of NBC’s coverage of five Olympic Games, working as NBC’s primary play-by-play announcer for Track & Field coverage during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Rowing at the 2016 Rio Olympics, in addition to Bobsled, Skeleton, and Luge at the 2022 Beijing, 2018 PyeongChang, and 2014 Sochi Games. Diffey has also served as a lead commentator for the Track & Field World Championships, as well as host for the Rugby World Cup, and Premiership Rugby.

“As one of the leading play-by-play announcers for motorsports, the Olympics, and so much more, Leigh’s signature style and iconic delivery has been a staple of many of the most memorable moments in sports over the past two decades,” said Scanlan. “It was only appropriate that immediately following the exciting finish of Super Bowl LVI, NBC tossed right to Bobsled coverage of the Beijing Olympics where Leigh continued to help host an audience of more than 30 million people. Leigh is by far one of the most revered broadcasters in the sports television and media industry, and few possess his combination of poise, charisma, and ability to captivate an audience.”
