Ackas to Join Fellow Leaders from Across Industries to Enhance Gender Equity in the Workplace

The Global Connections for Women Foundation (GC4W) announced today that Cristina Ackas, Vice President, Inclusive Diversity, Octagon, has been appointed to serve as the Vice Chair for the organization.

Global Connections for Women is one of the leading international non-profit organizations focused on gender equality, women empowerment, and youth empowerment. The foundation reaches more than 3.5 million people worldwide, creating curated programs and events to support female entrepreneurs and advance women in the workplace.

In her role as Vice-Chair, Ackas will partner with the organization’s leadership, including GC4W Founder & CEO Dr. Lillian Ajayi-Ore, to lead the development of projects and initiatives dedicated to ending the persistent inequities that still exist for women in the workplace. Ackas, Ajayi-Ore, and the GC4W advisory board will seek to drive necessary dialogue, create opportunities, and effect substantive change in the gender gap across business.

“I am proud to join the incredible women on GC4W’s advisory board and am excited to get to work, creating more equity, equality, and connection for women in workplaces around the world,” said Ackas. “Octagon has a longstanding history of being champions for gender equity both on the field and in the workplace. The opportunity to work with GC4W and some of the leading minds and activists across so many different industries will allow us to continue this mission and establish meaningful change for women everywhere.”

Ackas is slated to speak at GC4W’s first event of 2022, “Advancing Pay Equity in a Post-Pandemic World,” on Feb. 19 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET. The event, featuring Ajayi-Ore, IPG SVP for Global Culture and Diversity Femi Olu-Lafe, IPG SVP, Global Talent Attraction, Sandra Tarrant, and a host of key leaders, will discuss furthering the mission to achieve pay equity across the world.
