THE JOB / Senior Experiential Manager (Golf) (Financial Services Client)

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position is hybrid (3 days a week in the office) out of our Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA office. Remote candidates will not be considered. ***

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Experiential Manager to join our team as a leader and playmaker at the intersection of sports/entertainment and experiential marketing.

In this role, you will work closely with the Experiential Director and organizational golf subject matter experts to help co-lead a team responsible for strategic program development of our client’s comprehensive golf portfolio. 

There will be a strong focus on team leadership/management, client management, integrated planning across internal/external channels, concept development and advance facilitation working with clients, properties, internal teammates and agency partners throughout the process.

To be successful, you’ll need to be an inspiring leader, excellent communicator, and have expertise in golf experiences and activations.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and program development/execution for our client's experiential golf portfolio
  • Oversee the development and execution of a 20+ event program
  • Lead relationships with key vendors and operational stakeholders
  • Work with the team in the development of activation recommendations, tactical plans, finance trackers, budgets and program recaps
  • Support the team in providing counsel to clients on nuances across the landscapes professional and amateur golf during strategic planning and program development
  • Provide consultative guidance on client and vendor/partner status calls during planning, providing relevant updates and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Close alignment and collaboration working our account’s internal integrated golf team
  • Assist Experiential Director with day-to-day management of program budget
  • Serve as an Octagon experiential SEM when collaborating internally and externally with clients and agency partners on integrated planning opportunities representing Octagon on cross agency forums
  • Work closely with our Experiences lead and internal specialty groups throughout program development
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5-7 years of experience with an agency, brand or property on the development of integrated brand campaigns, specifically within global sports (with a focus in golf preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from a both leadership oversight and execution role
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator able to scale and adapt communications for a variety of audiences to optimally and succinctly articulate agency positioning and expertise
  • Experience managing large and complex event and program budgets
  • A strategic, collaborative approach to solving problems with ideas – build relationships and influence a range of teams. Successful at cultivating positive agency and client relationships
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to see possible impacts of a decision on many projects
  • A valid US passport is required
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically (and internationally) and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)

The base range for this position is $65,000 – 75,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications
