Senior Event Manager
THE JOB / Role Title
The Senior Events Manager plays a critical role in delivering best-in-class events, brand activations and hospitality programmes across sport, entertainment, and culture. This is a hands-on role responsible for translating creative ideas into impactful live experiences, ensuring seamless execution from planning through to delivery.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, creative teams and vendors, you will lead event workstreams, manage client relationships, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex projects. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and operational excellence, with a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating meaningful audience experiences.
You will also mentor junior team members, contribute to new business opportunities, and ensure all work meets the highest creative and production standards.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
Account Management
- Day-to-Day account management
- Maintain clear communication and alignment with clients on scope, project status, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted day-to-day lead
- Collaborate with internal teams and partner vendors to deliver integrated solutions
- Liaison with rights-holders, if applicable
- Management and delivery of client’s product integration with the property
- Delivery, management and execution of big event activation and/or hospitality programs
- Provide guidance on event execution, sponsorship leverage, and audience engagement
- Proactively identify new business opportunities within the account and/or other brands
Event/Hospitality Planning, Production & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of live events, brand activations and hospitality programmes
- Translate client strategies into scalable, high-impact event and activation plans
- Oversee all aspects of event production including logistics, vendor management, and on-site execution
- Support creative and production teams to ensure the integrity of the creative concept is executed to a high standard
- Manage run-of-show, production schedules, and operational workflows
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with Octagon and client standards.
- Manage HSSE planning and execution, including team safety and contingency planning
- Lead relationships with third parties, including coordinating contractors and suppliers
- Create presentation decks from pitch proposals to event
- Handle client production budgets, find efficiencies, and manage third-party costs through project reconciliation.
- Conduct regular team meetings and manage communications and roles between relevant parties, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Additional projects as assigned, which may include sponsorship evaluations, competitive reviews, POVs, white papers, property research, etc.
Team Management:
- Manage and mentor junior team members in event planning and delivery
- Delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of key deliverables
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 6–8+ years’ experience in event management and/or experiential marketing with a brand, agency and/or team or sports or entertainment property
- Proven experience delivering large-scale events and activations and/or hospitality programmes
- Agency experience in a similar role is preferred
- Experience working across sport, entertainment, and/or cultural events preferred
- High level Power Point Skills, Excel, AI and Outlook and confidence to present internally and externally
- Fluency in other languages is helpful
- Staff management experience
