THE JOB / Account Manager, Esports & Endurance (Payment Services Client)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***This is a hybrid (3-days a week) position based in our Stamford, CT or New York, NY office. NY based employees will be required to report to Stamford, CT twice a week. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Octagon is looking for an Account Manager to join our team to support a major payment services client and their US sponsorships across multiple passion verticals: Esports and Endurance. In this position, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing our client’s partnerships with Riot Games’ LCS regional league and New York City Road Runners by collaborating with Octagon’s internal client divisions, external vendors, agencies, and clients themselves. Additionally, you’ll be a key contributor across strategic operations and will develop an understanding of the client’s consumer marketing programming. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized and motivated, detail-oriented, work well with a team, and will provide exceptional client service while collaborating effectively with peers.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Act as the day-to-day contact for key clients, partners, vendors, and customers and build trust through consistent delivery and professional communication
  • Oversee all aspects of partnerships, from asset management, property communication, brand management, to on-site execution
  • Lead numerous projects simultaneously across passions/properties, managing smaller-scale turn-key event experiences and supporting large scale custom event experiences while ensuring timelines are met
  • Manage the planning and agency on-site execution of activities and programming related to client’s global esports sponsorship properties
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of client’s sponsorship portfolio and business initiatives to align strategies with their overall goals
  • Development and management of specific materials related to individual events, including but not limited to management of accompanying digital platforms and all activation elements
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members while actively collaborating with the broader team to foster a positive and productive environment
  • Manage approvals of sponsorship branding and messaging onsite and in digital collateral
  • Attend events while serving as a main point of contact for vendors, guests, client and partners
  • Handle weekly updates and action steps across main sponsorship properties
  • Learn and master the client’s asset management system, ensuring key sponsorship assets are requested, tracked, and utilized in strict compliance with established processes and protocols

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4-5 year(s) of agency/client service experience and/or marketing experience, ideally in sponsorship, sports, or entertainment
  • An impressive work ethic with the initiative to consistently go above and beyond
  • A positive demeanor, with a “no job is too small” approach
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict timelines consistently
  • Keen sense of business process and project management, understanding how sports sponsorship, event marketing, communications, and events are used impacts the bottom line and drives brand objectives
  • Proven experience in client service, project management, experiential activation, and creative ideation
  • Have experience overseeing executional deliverables and program activations across multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven expertise in crafting and delivering presentations that drive action and results
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and professionalism when interacting with team members, clients and vendors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Domestic travel to support client’s programming across clients portfolio of Esports and Endurance; May include non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends

The base range for this position is $60,000 – 65,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications
