Felix Hernandez

Felix Hernandez is the ace starting pitcher for the Seattle Mariners.  Nicknamed “King Felix”, he made his Major League debut in 2005 at age 19.  Felix won the 2010 American League Cy Young Award as the best pitcher in the league.  He has received votes for the award in six different seasons and was the runner-up twice (2009 and 2014.)  Felix has made six All-Star appearances, earning the start for the American League in 2014.  A lifelong Seattle Mariner after signing as a 16-year old in 2002, he is the franchise’s all-time leader in wins, innings pitched, games started and strikeouts.

Ben Zobrist

Ben Zobrist won the World Series in 2015 and was the starting 2B for the NL in the 2016 MLB All-Star game. A natural shortstop, the three-time All-Star became a “super utility player,” and is often called upon to play other infield and outfield positions.

Carlos Martinez

Only three years into his MLB career, Carlos Martinez has cemented himself as one of the most dominant young starting pitchers in baseball. In his first year as a full-time starter in the Cardinals rotation, Martinez was named a 2015 All-Star. In 2014, Carlos established the Tsunami Waves Foundation dedicated to inspiring and empowering underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic and St. Louis.

So Taguchi

After starring for 10 years in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball League, So Taguchi became a Major League rookie at the age of 33. An instant fan favorite in St. Louis, so was the Cardinals’ first Japanese-born player and the first National League player born in Japan to win a World Series. After eight MLB seasons, Taguchi returned to the Orix BlueWave for two more seasons and is currently manager of the Orix Farm League team.

Joe Maddon

A three-time Manager of the Year, Joe Maddon was named the Chicago Cubs manager in 2015. After 31 years as a scout and coach in the Angels’ organization, he became manager of the Tampa Bay Rays in 2006, winning the World Series in 2002 as the bench coach.

Boggs & Johnson

Wade Boggs, nicknamed “Chicken Man” because of his career-long superstition of eating chicken before a game, Wade Boggs was a 2005 inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. His credentials include 3,010 career hits, 12 straight All-Star Game appearances, eight Silver Slugger awards, five AL Batting Titles, and a World Series Championship (1996). His numbers were retired by the Boston Red Sox (#26) and Tampa Bay Rays (#12).

The 2001 World Series MVP, Randy Johnson was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015.  The seven-time Cy Young Award winner and ten-time All-Star established a number of Major League records over his 21-year career. His number  was retired by the Arizona Diamondback on August 8, 2015.
