The third overall selection in the 2020 WNBA Draft, Lauren Cox is the newest member of the Indiana Fever. Cox’s legacy at Baylor includes an NCAA Championship title (2019), Big 12 Player of the Year (2019-20), 2x Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and 2x Big 12 First-Team honoree, amongst many other awards and honors. The Texas native began her senior season with the Lady Bears as a preseason All-American, ranked by ESPN as the No. 2 collegiate women’s basketball player in the country. At the end of the 2019-20 season, Lauren and her sister, Whitney, received the Pat Summitt Most Courageous Award for their basketball and community involvement in the face of their conditions, having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 7 and 17, respectively. Internationally, Lauren is a 4x gold medalist with USA Basketball, with her most recent medal coming from the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Valdivia, Chile where she was named MVP.
