OCTAGON HBCU CAREER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM

PROGRAM DATES: JULY 19 - JULY 30, 2021

Octagon Talent + Properties is launching a two-week virtual intensive program (July 19-July 30) to introduce and expose 20 HBCU students to the extensive career opportunities that exist in the realm of talent representation. We will provide deep dives into the roles, responsibilities, and career paths of athlete and talent representation professionals including:

  • Agents / Client Managers 

  • PR / Communications 

  • Marketing / Sales   

  • Financial Services

  • Legal     

  • Accounting

  • Creative

  • Content Production

  • Digital Strategy

Students will have the opportunity to participate in mentoring circles with agency professionals that have been in the industry for 20+ years. 

As part of the HBCU Virtual Career Accelerator Program, students will participate in a Case Study Challenge utilizing insights gained from the program experience to compete for one of five, $1,000 scholarships. 

The program will culminate with an in-person networking event in Washington D.C., pending local health and safety regulations, where we will announce the winners of the scholarships. Travel stipends will be provided.

How to Apply

Submit your resume along with a 90-second video submission demonstrating why you should be selected to participate in the career accelerator program.

Tips for your video: give us a look into your personality. We want to get a glimpse into who you are and why you should be selected for this program. Highlight the impact you want to have on the sports and/or entertainment world.

All material should be uploaded to your Google Drive and sent via the following steps:

  1. Title the resume FirstNameLastNameOCT" and the videoFirstNameLastNameVideo (ex.: “MakaylaJacksonOCT and MakaylaJacksonVideo)
     
  2. Share both documents with Makayla.Jackson@octagon.com
     
  3. Click Share Anyway when Google requests to send the doc, and you will receive confirmation in 48 hours that your documents have been received
