RISING AMERICAN TENNIS STAR FRANCES TIAFOE SIGNS WITH OCTAGONPress Release, Talent + Properties, Tennis, Frances Tiafoe
McLean, VA (Mar 1, 2018) – Octagon, the premier sports and entertainment marketing leader, today announced the signing of American tennis sensation, Frances Tiafoe, to a worldwide, exclusive marketing and management agreement. Tiafoe, who captured his first ATP World Tour singles title last week at the 2018 Delray Beach Open, became the youngest American to win on Tour since Andy Roddick in 2002. The 20-year-old will be represented by Octagon Vice President, Kelly Wolf.
“We are thrilled to welcome Frances to the Octagon family,” said Alastair Garland, Vice President of Tennis. “As one of the rising stars of American tennis, his addition to our roster further solidifies Octagon’s legacy in men’s tennis.”
The College Park, Maryland native started playing tennis alongside his twin brother, Franklin, at just four years old. Finding success early and taking home numerous prestigious titles during his junior career, Tiafoe reached an ITF World No. 2 ranking and became the youngest player to win the Orange Bowl at the age of 15. At age 17, Tiafoe became the USTA Junior National Champion. In 2017, Tiafoe captured two back-to-back ATP Challenger titles in Sarasota, Florida and Aix en Provence, France.
“I am very excited to now be represented by Octagon,” said Tiafoe. “Having been on Tour for a couple of years, I have seen the work which they have done and the success that they have had for their clients. I am confident they will provide the best management structure for me which will allow me to focus on reaching my potential.”
