LONDON (September, 2019) – Octagon, the IPG owned creative shop specialising in sport and culture, have added Ryan Shaw as a Creative Director in London.
Prior to joining Octagon, Shaw worked for White Label, overseeing their creative output in London and the US offices. Before that, Ryan spent 13 years at The Bank, leading creative across the SABMiller Global brands portfolio including Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell.
Josh Green, Executive Creative Director said, “It’s been a mega 18 months. Scale has never been a goal of ours. It’s just been a byproduct of the work. It seems like overnight we’ve grown from a team of 5 to a team of over 25 creatives. Ryan’s got a book full of global, properly grown up work. We’re counting on him to play a big role in guiding our UK teams and raising the bar for the agency even further.”
Joel Seymour-Hyde, Head of Octagon UK, said, “This is us doubling down on creative. We’re proud of the volume and scale of integrated creative work we are delivering across sport and entertainment. Ryan’s been here for just over a month, and he’s already creating work for clients that we’ll be talking a lot about.
Shaw commented, “I’m hugely excited to have joined the talented team here at Octagon. Sport, music and entertainment are fascinating areas, they play a crucial role in culture and society because they represent true passion points for so many people - myself included. The opportunity to play creatively and bring brand ideas to life in this space, is about as good as it gets!”
