Simon Wardle: Millennials 101

Simon Wardle, Chief Strategy Officer, kicked off The National Sports Marketing Network’s ‘Reaching Millennials Through Sports’ conference on Friday, November 11 with an insightful discussion centered around the generation every marketer vies to connect with: millennials.

Through ‘Millennials 101', Simon introduced attendees to ‘the most ethnically diverse, digitally-connected and demanding generation ever.’ Talking points included millennial values and the evolved sports and entertainment landscape they grew up in.

 

 

 

 

 

On double duty, Wardle also joined industry executives in a panel discussion hosed by SportsBusiness Journal’s Terry Lefton. Hot topics included brand authenticity, relying on millennials as content creators, and creating live experiences to drive conversation. 

Although Millennials live in a world of choice, the live experience still reigns supreme. 

So what's next? Brands can connect with millennials by offering a live experience that appeals to their core values: versatility, discovery, openness, connectivity, and new expressions.
