Ferraris in Italy and Skiing in Austria

2017 is not messing about. We’ve been all hands to the pump (literally), creating some amazing work and setting up with new clients.

We’re thrilled to announce we’ve been appointed as Shell’s global motorsport hospitality agency of record.

Octagon will be responsible for campaign development across Shell’s motorsport hospitality globally – including Shell’s flagship, 70-year ‘Innovation Partnership’ with Ferrari.

We’ll also help Shell maximise the value of technical partnerships with Ferrari F1, Hyundai-Shell-Mobis World Rally Team, BMW Motorsport in DTM, Ducati Corse in MotoGP and WEC events.

Whilst we’ve been busy winning new work, we’ve also been doing some of our best work to date. To start off 2017, the Octagon Mastercard team headed to Kitzbuehel, Austria, to activate the most prestigious and widely attended event of the FIS World Cup skiing circuit, the Hahnenkamm Races, where Mastercard has been an Official Sponsor and Payments Provider since 2016.

With the exclusive Mastercard lounges as the “best seat in the house”, both at the final jump of the famous Downhill race and right next to the Slalom race track, as well as meet & greets with famous skiing legends, Mastercard holders were up close and personal to the Kitzbuehel action. In addition, we transformed the start hut area into the most popular spot on the entire mountain and even had select, very skilled guests ski down 'the Streif', one of the most dreaded slopes in the world, just hours before the race.

Besides having the most fantastic weather imaginable with fresh powder and lots of sunshine, Octagon delivered an exceptional end-to-end hospitality experience for our client, earning high praise from both B2B and B2C guests. Clearly our team had a terrible time working in the Alps for a week…
