Ben Hartman Takes the Helm of Octagon APAC Team

Restructure Positions Agency for Growth

 

(Sydney, AUS – 8 June, 2016) - Octagon, the global sports and entertainment marketing arm of Interpublic Group (NYSE:IPG), has bolstered its Asia Pacific operation with a restructure of its regional management team and the return of Ben Hartman to lead the organization APAC-wide from Sydney.

The restructure has seen Hartman, a 10-year veteran of Octagon return to The Rocks based office as Managing Director, APAC responsible for Octagon operations pan regionally, supported by a key regional team based in Singapore.

 “Octagon’s Asia Pacific marketing operation has grown significantly over the recent years, and this restructuring positions the team for continued growth while bringing the smartest, most engaging work to our clients,” Jeff Shifrin, President and COO Octagon Marketing (Global).

To support the growth, Hartman has elevated Singapore based Regional Strategy Director Adam Hodge to the newly created Head of Strategy, APAC and appointed Lizi Hamer as Octagon’s Regional Creative Director. Hodge’s role will cover research and fan insights, as well as leading creative strategy for clients and teams across the region, working closely with Lizi Hamer and the management team to drive the growth of the agency.

Previously at Arcade, Lizi was named Top 20 Women to Watch in Asia by Campaign Asia and has an exceptional resume including time with, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sapient Nitro and McCann. Lizi has worked across the globe and has been awarded both creative and effectiveness accolades for her work with clients including Heineken, RSPCA, OPSM and Greenpeace. Her Rugby World Cup and Priceless Music work for MasterCard has collected Spikes, ADMA, MIDAS and AIMIA awards.

Octagon’s Sydney-based Client Services Director, Andrew Clarke has been named Agency Director, Octagon Australia. With a CV including The Monkeys, PRISM and Grey London, Clarke takes the helm in Sydney with existing clients including Lion, ANZ, Unilever, Hyundai, Nestle, Samsung, Ansell and Defense Housing Australia.
